- Cereal with blueberries, juice and coffee was our breakfast - all from the stockpile.
- I cleaned our Master Bedroom from top to bottom using homemade all purpose cleaner. I have it all ready to shampoo the carpet tomorrow.
- I stayed home which saved on gasoline and spending money.
- We arranged for the city to pick up our green barrel tomorrow so DH and I bagged the little bit of trimmings that were in it for the garbage. We cancelled monthly service for it since DH has hired a weekly landscaping and gardening service. We have saved over the years knowing that some day we would not want to do all that needs to be done ourselves especially in this hot climate.
-We tested the pool to make sure the salt system is making enough chlorine and that our pool is balanced.
- Lunch was salsa and chips.
- I roasted the turkey breast in the Nesco out on the patio. Keeps the heat out of the air-conditioned house.
- We had a lovely chat with our family via the web cam.
- The mail brought the $6.00 Rebate for shipping UPS, my Free Woman's Day Magazine, a free sample of cat appetizers, and a coupon to be used at Bashas for True Lemon.
- I washed a load of sheets and a blanket and hung them to dry.
- I pulled all of the rest of my June coupons and threw them out. I filed all of the coupons that came this week in my binder.
- Dinner was turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and Joseph's Cookies for dessert.
- I did 2 surveys for cash and 3 for points.
- I received a $5.00 Amazon giftcard from SwagBucks and ordered another one from SwagBucks.
- I received a wonderful Word World Thank You note from my grandaughter for her birthday gifts. She colored a pic for me on it. .....PRICELESS!
- Exercise today was a swim.
- I started to make my grocery list for tomorrow.
- I made a deal with a dear friend to trade BTFE, Tyson labels and Campbells soup labels for extra coupons from Sunday inserts. Yeah, I won't have to buy extra newspapers. I can save those ECB's for other items.
- Entertainment tonight is NCIS as I type this. I am really tired tonight so off to bed early.
As usual feel free to share with us via comments what you did to save money today.

Hello, I enjoy reading your blog.
I have to admit I can save more money if we would not fall in trap of eating out.
Mostly this happens if we are out and about and time is short. I have 4 little ones and usually I pack snacks in my bag and bring water. Sometimes after a busy day I forget to have a meal planned and ready for when we come home. Do you have any suggestions for Easy meals simple ingredients yet healthy? (my kids are ages 5,3,2,and 10 months)
Hi Josette,
Welcome to my blog. The way that I would handle that is to either put something into the crockpot that morning before you go out or always have a frozen pizza or make ahead meal in the freezer.
Here are a couple of great recipe sites that I use for my crockpot:

You could also make meatless spaghetti. Just throw some spaghetti sauce in the microwave to heat and cook some pasta on the stove. make a tossed salad and you are good to eat.
Another thing I do for casseroles is brown my ground beef so that it is cooked along with a cooked onion already in the browned beef and ready to go and bag it for the freezer. Then it is easy to throw a lb. or 2 of the ground beef with onion in a fry pan with a can or 2 of Campbells vegetable soup(undiluted). Add salt and peppeer to taste and some chili powder, garlic, oregano and basil and a bay leaf. Simmer ans serve. Be sure to remove the bay leaf before you serve. My boys loved this when they were young.
Keep chunked cooked chicken in the freezer and just make a stir fry with whatever veggies you have on hand, use a bottled or packet stir fry sauce or look a recipe up online and you have a meal in minutes. I make stir fry a lot. It is quick and healthy.
Keep tomato soup in your pantry and serve with a grilled cheese sandwich.
Mainly just stock your pantry so that you have something easy waiting and you can avoid the expense opf that greasy fast food.
It would probably be cheaper and I know healthier for you, in a pinch, to stop and buy a rotisserie chicken on sale and a bag of salad than fast food.
HTH!
Precious,
I love reading your blog and I just always think...I wish I could put up such detailed postings. I feel so guilty that I don't even get up one a week. It's been so hectic here, that I haven't even stopped to take grocery pics! (Half the time, I quickly shop--but still watch my money spent and stay within budget--and then a few days later, I'm like, where did my receipt go! I really need to get organized!!) I'm forever trying to evolve the blog to find new things for everyone.
But I guess, different things make us all unique. I just wanted to let you know that I have been trying my best to watch my money. I do splurge on a luxury item every now and then, but I usually use SwagBucks for it. We are finally through b-day parties until November so I have awhile to build back my "stash." :) We plan on having a small Christmas and focus more on family time this year.
I just want to say thanks for being so inspiring. Whenever I need to keep on track, I stop by and see all the ways you are finding to watch your pennies.
I'll do my best to get some postings up soon.
Oh, and I had to pass this on--I had a blast doing my couponing class. Have you ever thought about doing a money-saving class? You'd be great at it!
Jaycie
Hi Jaycie,
Never feel guilty! We each have a limited amount of time and we each
have to decide in what way is best for us to use it. :-)
We all have our luxuries. Without them, we would not be able to stay on the frugal path for long.
Your Christmas sounds wonderful. Most of our family birthdays are over with until the fall also.
You are welcome and I am glad I can inpsire you.
If I was younger, I might think about a couponing class. But I have enough on my plate right now. I also figure people can learn for free from just visiting my blog. But thanks for the compliment.
