Sunday Shopping on July 24 and Giveaway Winner

I love going shopping at 8AM on a Sunday. There is no traffic and no crowds. So NOT keeping to my stockpile budget this is what I purchased:

Tops:

2 Dole Pineapples - $ 2.99 each

2 Cucumbers - $ .50 each

1 Beefsteak Tomato - $ .91

1 Earthbound Farms Organic Baby Arugula - Reduced for Quick Sale - $ .99

1 Bag of Fresh Spinach - Reduced for Quick Sale - $ .59

8- 8oz. Cabot Cheese Chunks - On sale for $ 2.50 each - Used (4) B1G1F MQ's and (4) $ 1./1 MQ's = $ 6.00 or $ .75 each ( I forgot that they would no longer take a coupon on the Free one. So I had planned on these being $ .25 each. But still a good price and we are low on cheese so even though they were $ .75 each, I purchased them.)

Total OOP was $ 15.47.

CVS:

1 Oral B Satin Floss - $ 2.99 - Used $ 1./1 MQ = $ 1.99 and I received a $ 2.00 ECB

1 Schick Hydro Razor - $ 7.99 - Used $ 4./1 MQ = $ 3.99

1 - 3 Ct. Intuition Razor Refill - $ 12.29 - Used $ 2./1 MQ = $ 10.49 and I received a $ 10.00 ECB for buying $ 20.00 in Schick Products

1 BenGay - $ 6.29 - Used $ 5./1 IPQ = $ 1.29 and received a $ 2.00 ECB

Used $ 4.00 in ECB's

Total was $ 13.76 + tax but nothing OOP because I paid with a $10.00 Prepaid Mastercard that I got free for a rebate and I used up most of the balance on a Prepaid Visa Card. I also earned a total of $14.00 in ECBS. Since there are only pennies left on the prepaid giftcards, I will have to use ECB's to pay from now on at CVS.

Walgreens:

1 Lindsay Black Olive - Used in Ad Q = $ .99

2 Scotch Magic Tape - Used in Ad B1G1F = $ 1.99 - Used 2- $ 1./1 IPQ's = Made $ .01

3 Hunts Tomato Sauce - Used in Ad Q - 3 for $ 1.00

1 Tums - $ 3.99 - used $ 1./1 MQ and $ 1./1 Walgreens IVC = $ 1.99

Used $ 4. RR from last week to pay so only paid tax.

It was 76 while I was out shopping. Much needed rain came during the night so it cooled off somewhat. It is still humid though but not as hot as it had been. The sun is out now and if that continues we will grill a pork loin and fresh sliced pineapple outside since my son and West are coming to dinner. My DIL had to fly to Florida for a business meeting in the morning. So the guys are on their own. I think I will make up potato and onion packets for the grill also and cook up that spinach.

The winner of the giveaway of the 10 Huggies Pull Up Coupons is Lucky. Congrats Lucky. I will e-mail you.

Please feel free to leave a comment and share with us any great deals you got today.

I love Sunday morning shopping too! I pick up my 4 papers and then do any shopping that needs to be done. This week I went to CVS and managed to get 3 Hydro razors and 1 skintimate gel for $7.48 (no ECB's to roll) and got the $10.00 ECB. Then rolled that to the gas card deal and bought 5 Aussie stylers, 5 Aussie shampoo/conditioner, and 1 natural instincts haircolor for a pre coupon total of $31.68 and after all the coupons and my $10.00 ECB I owed nothing and got back a $10.00 gas card.

Love when a plan comes together.

We love it grilled. It's so sweet!

Your dinner sounds scrumptious! I was out shopping at Wal*Mart this morning at 7:00. That's the only time I'll go to that store. The place makes me crazy. If I didn't save so much there, I wouldn't go at all.

Precious WTG!! Awesome job.

Hi Jeanie,

I here you on Walmart. That is the time of day I like to shop too. But things here in NY do not seem to open as early as they did when I lived in AZ.

Thanks Didicoffeegirl! I hope your foot is better.

My foot (toe is doing much better my friend)... however, I have not stopped and just taken some time off. I've been go and go... you know the drill! Anwyay, it's okay, the swelling and bruising will go down. I hate the look of it, it's honestly grossing me out Precious!! This too shall pass.

I'm more freaking out that I made the last of the "trial" competition steak rolls tonight and they came out TERRIBLE!! I mean terrible, no I'm not jokin!! The first batch came out so bad we gave them sans the bacon to the doggies.. they were literally in-edble!! I was in TEARS!!! Dh said, WTH. He went to the butcher got more Flank. I did the recipe again... this time I used the skillet instead of the dutch oven... familia said "amazing, but chewy"... Cuz I started on dutch oven instead of skillet. Now I'm confused as how to start and finish. I've alway's slow cooked this recipe not finished from start to finish in 30 minutes w/ Flank!!!

Precious... I'm devastated, what was I THINKING??? :-( I can't do THIS!!!!!

Great trip, Precious! I didn't get to do any shopping for this weeks deals yet. I took a couple months "off" from couponing (okay I still used coupons but not as much as normal ;) ) recently and have run low on a lot so I will be doing a lot more shopping within the next month or so to build my stockpile back up. I was able to make a trip to Wegmans Saturday evening and spent $39.xx and saved $69.00 so I was pleased with that since most items I didn't have a coupon for. That included all of the groceries that I will need for this week as well as a box of diapers and a tub of wipes.

Hi Didicoffeegirl,

YOU CAN DO IT! You can do anything you set your mind to. Do you have to use flank or can you use a more tender cut of steak sliced thin? Will they allow you to slow cook the flank ahead of time? They should know from seeing your recipe that flank needs to be slow cooked.Don't worry. I am sure they will help you.

Feel better soon my friend.

Hi Amanda,

I will love watching you build your stockpile up. I will be doign what you are doing in a number of months. But for now, I really don't need much.

Wow! That is a great Wegman's trip. I can't beleive you got all of your weekly groceries and that included diapers and wipes. They are so expensive. Way to go!

Yay! I'm so excited! Thanks!

I started building my HBA stockpile back up yesterday -- I buy enough for the year each year around this time. I did the shaving cream deal at CVS using some ECBs I already had so I didn't pay anything OOP and I got $10 ECBs back. I also vistied the farm stand to get some beans and picked up some shorts for my daughter at the consignment store -- she outgrew most of her 9 month clothes before she even had a chance to wear them! All in all it was agood weekend and I'm happy to be back home and getting back into my routine.

Also for Didicoffeegirl, I have no idea what you're working on, but could you start in a skillet and finish in a pressure cooker for your flank steak?

Precious said...

Hi Lucky,

I will be watching you build your stockpile. I'm loving the CVS deals also. Wow! Your little girl is growing fast. I used to buy my grandaughter lots of things at Twice As Nice(consignment)in AZ. I have not been able to find one here.

CVS - I used B1G1 Schick disposable coupon and paid $11 and got back 10 ECB. Very good deal.

Precious said...

Very nice deal annonymous. I saw that deal but I really needed the Intuition refills since it is the only razor I use.

Didicoffeegirl said...

Thank you Precious, thank you Lucky! I cannot sub a different cut of steak because I specified "Flank" upon recipe submission... I also cannot bring a pressure cooker because I did not specify that. I can only bring what is written in the recipe.

Dh bought 1lb of Flank today and had the butcher fillet it. Im hoping with a thinner cut and using the braise method with the skillet only will give me the results Im looking for. The flavor is amazing... I just need the texture of the steak to be tender... Ugh!!

Thanks you guys...

Precious said...

Hi Didicoffegirl,

Please do let us know how this works. :-)

Didicoffeegirl said...

Ok, Precious & Lucky... I DID IT!!!
Woohoooooo, OMG, you guys I'm literally SHAKING!! I CANNOT BELIEVE I'M ABLE TO TYPE!!!

Anyway, this is what I did. Dh did good (alas for a man no pun, we all know what I'm talking about, spouse support here). He got the butcher to fillet the flank steak. Purchased WAY TOO MUCH, but whatever. I halved the recipe to see.

I beat (tenderized w/ a meat mallot) the holy glory of this meat. I then seasoned, and did what I had to do. Used the skillet. Used in an immersion blender for the gravy deal... and OMgoodness... it WORKED!!!! It was "steak" w/ a chew, but def. not "chewy"... does that make sense?? The gravy, oh man oh man oh man oh man the gravy on this dish.

I won't bother giving you the recipe since it will be on Sugardale.com in just a few days...

WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO Precious, Lucky I could KISS YOU!!!!!

It was 113 today! We went to the water park. We save $8 on each ticket from my entertainment book.

Precious said...

Hi Abigail's Mommy,

Is it dry heat where you are? I never minded the high temps in AZ because there was no humidity. The humidity here in NY has been horrid the past couple of weeks.

Nice savings on the water park tickets.

Way to go Dididcoffegirl! Post the link when it's live and I'd love to try it.

Yes it is dry. Not as dry as Arizona, but much drier then Maine. Thought it is still very hot. Even the pool is hot.

Hi Abigail's Mommy,

I am glad it is dry though. It's like AZ was. I used to run all my errands in the early morning and then spend the afternoon in the pool. Our pool temp used to be aorund 95. I loved it.
