B.J.'s Stockpile Trip

DH and I ran some errands today. Besides going to the bank, we went to Best Buy where I purchased a pen/stylus for free to use with my android tablet. I paid with my $ 30.00 in Rewards and just tax.

Then we made a stockpile run to  B.J.'s where I purchased the following:

Large Jug of Frank's Hot Sauce - $ 10.99

1 Soft Chicken Bouillon Cubes - $ 6.49

1 Soft Beef Bouillon Cubes - $ 6.49

1 Chopped Onions - $ 6.99

8 Large Cans of Chicken Breast - $ 7.69 for each 4 or $ 15.38

12 cans of Hunt's Tomato Sauce - $  7.69

12 cans of Hunts Paste - $ 5.89

2 Large Jars of Olives - $ 8.99

1 - 2 pack of Glad Cling  Wrap - $ 6.49

1 Large Pkg. of 2 Quart Size Ziplocs and 2 Gallon Size Ziplocs - $9.49 after Q

1 Large 250 ct. Gummy Vitamins for Adults - $ 12.99

1 25 lb. Bag of Carolina Rice - $ 12.49

Total OOP was $ 111.73.

After today's spending I have  $ 107.09 left for February in my grocery budget. Everything that I bought today I can get cheaper at BJ's than anywhere else with the exception of the tomato sauce. I can get that cheaper at Top's this week. However since I had DH to help today, I picked up a case there.

What do you stockpile from the warehouse club that you go to?

I buy dog food and a few dog treats at the wharehouse club store. We do not have a BJ's. We have a Sam's Club (less than 1 mile from me) and a Costco. The Costco is in Austin so 30 minutes away. I do not have a membership there any more. I buy the extra large bags of dog food, store brand, but the 'good' kind without corn etc. It is made in the USA too. A large 44 pound bag costs $32.00 (last month) and will last my dogs 5-6 weeks. (I have 5 dogs)
I buy flour, sugar, and coffee there too. Best prices in our area. I buy some produce there too. Example, potatoes, a big bag (15 pounds) of really nice potatoes is just $4.00. Bananas are 3 pounds for $1.00. (in the local Walmart bananas are .48 a pound) I buy milk and butter at Sam's too.
Our Sam's does not take coupons. So with some watching and waiting I buy laundry soap etc. at local stores for less than 1/2 price. I have just counted 20 bottles of Purex in my laundry room and 3 bottles of Tide...This is more than a year's worth. If I come on a sale and I have a coupon I will buy it.
We are lucky to live in an area where we can garden all most all year. Right now we have onions, broccoli, and some cabbage from the garden. I have some things in the freezer from last year.
I am on target to meet my budget this month too. I have added some $50.00 to the budget for my grandson's birthday. (cake, party items, and favors for 2 parties)

Hi Roxie,

Thanks for sharing. I miss Costco. It was my very favorite warehouse club. We used to shop at Sam's when we lived in NY before but the one here is too far from me.

You have a nice laundry stockpile. Fifty dollars should make for a nice party for your grandson.

That is too funny Precious, I just went to BJ's on Tuesday. I buy dairy products mostly and if we don't have gas points we definitely use it for gas. You cannot beat their prices for wedges if Parmesan, gruyere and other high quality cheeses.

Hi Didi,

Thanks for those tips.

What a great "stockpile" haul.
I too love Costco. With price book and coupon holder in hand, I'll shop there for most "stockpile" items. Some fresh produce, dairy, baking supplies and of course some of the special deals. At the moment Costco has it potting soil(only buy maybe 4 bags,it's for he pots and if I don't want to order a Yrd) back, so that is on list for the next shopping trip there.

We haven't bought a ton at Costco lately because we try and get in and out with a very short list. I do like getting cheese there, feta, string cheese, fancy cheese :-) Plus almonds and jerky for Peter.

I shop at BJs for rice, boullion, unbleached flour, carrots, onions, bananas, milk, cheese, organic apple juice, beef, pork loin, yeast, olive oil, and any time I need to bring in store bought cupcakes for something. They also have coupons for diapers sometimes so I use those when I need to. I also like the socks and underwear they have there for kids.

The past 2 years BJs has had a coupon for evaporated milk around Christmas that brought it down to about $.70 a can.

At Costco we buy our contact lenses, Xtra Large jug of natural peanut butter, quinoa, sundried tomatoes, worchertershire sauce, yeast, vitamins, etc. While there is no Costco near us on the island we live on in Alaska, we go whenever we have business or pleasure trips near"one. They will also but our order on a barge & ship it to us if needed. Love costco.
My sister uses the pharmacy as her prescription is $40 less there than at Walmart.
